Mosgortrans pursues digital transformation in transport

October 16, 2024

Moscow, October 16, 2024 – Moscow is actively implementing digital solutions in passenger transport: the transition of Mosgortrans from paper waybills to an electronic analog has significantly improved the working conditions of the company’s employees and automated the work of all 25 operating sites. Now all the data of technical control of Mosgortrans vehicles are stored in an electronic database.

Mechanics no longer need to enter inspection results into paper logs. This saves the employee up to 1.5 hours a day and he can devote them to more important work – checking the serviceability of vehicles. Mechanics-controllers are responsible for timely technical control of transport and release of vehicles on the route, inspect buses and electric buses before going on the line, check the sanitary and technical condition of transport. In addition, the refusal of paper makes the work of the enterprise even more environmentally friendly.

“On 25 sites of Mosgortrans every day data on inspection of more than 5,000 buses and electric buses are saved. With the transition to the new Russian software, mechanics can spend more time checking the serviceability of transport. Thanks to this, the vehicles get on the routes faster, the trips become even safer, and the workload of employees is reduced. We are improving the work of public transport as instructed by the Mayor of Moscow, Sergey Sobyanin,” – said Maksim Liksutov, the Deputy Mayor of Moscow for Transport.

Another piece of information is worth noting: more than 4,500 buses and electric buses of Mosgortrans have already been equipped with Russian accelerometers. Special sensors assess the quality of driving and give a signal if they detect a discrepancy with the norm.

The devices evaluate the smoothness of the bus online, track sharp maneuvers, braking and acceleration, record the time and place where there was a deviation from the norm and inform the driver that it is necessary to adjust the driving style. All data is available for inspection by the fleet staff that maintains the route. Thanks to accelerometers, cases of passenger falls during trips are becoming even less.

“Already more than 80 percent of Mosgortrans buses are equipped with Russian software to improve the quality of passenger service. Accelerometers help drivers to ensure safe travel throughout the city. Each case of deviation from the norm is recorded and dealt with by the services responsible for the smooth operation of the routes. We make traveling around the capital even more convenient and comfortable, as instructed by the Mayor of Moscow Sergey Sobyanin,” – said Maksim Liksutov.
