February 14, 2018
Minsk, February 14, 2018 – On Tuesday, February 13, within the framework of the working visit of the delegation of the Republic of Belarus to Samara region, a solemn transfer of buses of Minsk Automobile Plant took place for use on transport routes in the capital of the region.
During the transfer of MAZ 206 buses, Dmitry Azarov, the Governor of the Samara Region, the Head of Samara Elena Lapushkina, the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the Republic of Belarus to the Russian Federation Igor Petrishenko were present.
The agreement on the purchase of 100 new buses by regional commercial carrier LLC SamaraAvtoGaz was reached in May last year during the visit of Samara delegation to Belarus.
Opening the solemn ceremony, Dmitry Azarov noted that business ties between Russia and the Republic of Belarus are actively developing. The pledge of productive cooperation is the signed agreements between the two states. The cooperation of the enterprises of Belarus and the Samara city has given new impetus to its development.
“The products are well known to Samara citizens, such buses already operate on several city routes. They are reliable and comfortable”, said Dmitry Azarov. “This is a very important deal for the region, especially when Samara region is preparing to receive guests from all over the world during the World Cup matches. For us it is of great importance that buses are delivered from the fraternal republic of Belarus.”
These buses are designed for an average transportation distance. The main factor in the renovation of Samara’s passenger fleet is the provision of comfortable conditions to passengers. The ratio of the standard size of buses and the street road network of Samara allows to ensure uninterrupted operation of transport without losing time in traffic jams. The cost of buses allows you to purchase a larger number of vehicles, and this, accordingly, will shorten the time interval in the transport routes.
Buses with the capacity of 72 people will start to run on city routes during the FIFA World Cup 2018TM. They are assembled from components of world famous manufacturers and are equipped with CCTV cameras, electronic and information boards. All buses are low-floor and are equipped with a mobile ramp for the groups of population with low-mobility and passengers with baby strollers.
