The KAMAZ K5 vehicle line has been replenished with new models

Naberezhnye Chelny, July 15, 2024 – KAMAZ continues to actively develop new K5 generation vehicles. In June, KAMAZ-54902 and KAMAZ-65658 rolled off the main assembly line of the automobile plant.

Both trucks belong to the transport family and, unlike the flagship K5 KAMAZ-54901, are designed to transport goods between cities over a short distance. They are equipped with a KAMA DIESEL power unit with a capacity of 400 hp. KAMAZ-54902 is equipped with a modern, comfortable cab 2,300 mm wide with a low roof and one berth. The height of the fifth wheel coupling is 1,150 mm, the load on the hitch is 11,250 kg.

The KAMAZ-65658 model has broader tasks. After its presentation at one of the commercial vehicle exhibitions, it was called a universal three-axle vehicle. Such vehicles are chosen by retailers for delivering products, and the long chassis is convenient for installing various types of superstructures. Another plus is the lifting axle, which is called the “sloth”. This device not only reduces fuel consumption when the machine is empty, but also facilitates winter operation. If you “tighten” the third axle, the truck becomes more passable.

“The new K5 brothers have an original gas exhaust and neutralization system, an engine air supply system, a new cabin suspension, cabin tail and chassis design,” said Igor Tikhanov, Chief Specialist of the Vehicle Assembly Efficiency Analysis Department.

In June, 11 new KAMAZ-54902 transport vehicles were assembled at the vehicle plant; 1,900 of these heavy trucks should be delivered by the end of the year. The KAMAZ-65658 vehicle has a more modest growth rate. The assembly of heavy-duty dump trucks also continues: let us remind you that their anti-sanction version was first presented last year. In 2024, the production of KAMAZ-6595 and KAMAZ-65951 vehicles will cross the 500 mark.
