Moscow, July 17, 2017 – The international commercial vehicle trade fair COMTRANS 2017 will be opening its doors to visitors from September 5th to 9th, 2017, with a separate Press Day on September 4th. The show which takes place in the Crocus Expo Center in Moscow, Russia, has increasingly become a significant platform for vehicle, component and accessory manufacturers in the worldwide commercial vehicle industry.
COMTRANS is included in the official calendar of automotive transport exhibitions of the International Organization of Motor Vehicle Manufacturers (OICA) and is held biennially. The organizers of the COMTRANS International Commercial Vehicle Auto Show are ITEMF Expo and OAR (The Association of Russian Automakers). The exhibition is supported by the Ministry of Trade and Industries Russian Federation, the Ministry of Transport of the Russian Federation and the Association of European Businesses (AEB).
“Today, COMTRANS is the leading commercial vehicle exhibition in Russia”, says Sergey Alexandrov, General Director of the fair organizer ITEMF Expo. “We are continuing to report a very great interest, not only from Russia and its neighboring countries, but also from Central and Western Europe, Turkey, China, Korea, India and even Africa.” On more than 40,000 square meters, manufacturers, dealers and service providers from 18 countries will be exhibiting at the COMTRANS commercial vehicle show. According to Sergey Alexandrov, many exhibitors from previous years have confirmed their participation for 2017. Among them are international and domestic manufacturers of trucks, light commercial vehicles (LCVs), buses and coaches, trailers and semi-trailers as well as manufacturers and suppliers of commercial vehicle spare parts and aftermarket products.
The 17th annual award ceremony of the “Best Commercial Vehicle of the Year in Russia” contest will be the key event at the COMTRANS exhibition. It will be held on the evening of the Press Day, September 4th, in the Crocus Expo Center. “The Best Commercial vehicle of the Year in Russia” is an annual non-profit event. The Jury is represented by prominent journalists working in designated Russian periodicals, which regularly cover vehicle topics. With this award, the Jury honors the contribution of the vehicles to increase the transportation efficiency based on parameters as the novelty of technical solutions, operating costs, sales rate, purchase conditions or the availability of services.
For the first time, COMTRANS will host the Moscow Commercial Vehicle Summit on September 5th and 6th. The Summit is co-organized by the Association of European Businesses in Russia (AEB) with the support of the Association of Russian Automakers and the International Road Transport Union (IRU).
“With the Moscow Commercial Vehicle Summit, we intend to establish a key business platform where on the one hand government representatives report on actual status, results of changes and state supporting measures and on the other hand top-management representatives share strategies and present their plans”, ITEMF Expo Director Sergey Alexandrov explains.
“At the same time, this major conference will provide a platform for all market players to discuss burning issues.” The event is divided into two parts: The first day is “cargo vehicles day”, dedicated to trucks and LCV, while the second day, “passenger vehicles day”, is focused on transport by buses and coaches. An application form for registration as well as more information on the program is available on the COMTRANS website www.comtransexpo.ru
